Ansantawae Honors Milfords Newest Eagle Scout |
Eagle Scout Court of Honor for Aaron Peter Schwabacher at St. Mary’s Church, Boy Scout Troop 721, Milford, CT
Saturday, January 14th, 2012

Presentation performed by Worshipful Master of local Milford lodge, Ansantawae Lodge #89 Robert L. Thomas with Right Worshipful Grand Senior Steward Brad Cooney. After beginning his Boy Scout career in 2004, Aaron advanced through his many stations of Scouting until finally achieving his rank of Eagle at the completion of his Board of Review on August 24, 2011. During his Scouting tenure, besides earning the many merit badges required, Aaron also held many leadership positions such as Librarian, Bugler and Scribe. In searching for his Eagle Project, Aaron was offered the opportunity to benefit the Milford Community by restoring historic gravestones at the Milford Cemetery. His project consisted of designing and building two sets of braces to hold the gravestones in place during their repair. With the help of his Troop, Aaron was able to help repair 35 headstones. Aaron graduated from Joseph A. Foran High School in June of 2011 and has just completed his first semester at the University of Hartford where he is pursuing his Doctor of Physical Therapy with a minor in Psychology. |
Brethren,
At a meeting of Master Masons in the Town Hall on October 13, 1859, it was agreed to petition the Grand Lodge of the State of Connecticut for a dispensation empowering them to confer the three Degrees of Masonry. Why tell you this? Because our history is long, dignified and respected. I want to be able to say that I helped keep that esteemed legacy alive. And so with that, I am humbled and honored that the Office of Master be bestowed on me for the ensuing year of 2012. 153 years ago W.B. Tom Dutton thought it well enough to start something worthwhile. As an Eagle Scout, I offer you my solemn obligation and oath that “I will do my best to do my duty…” for us and the Brotherhood of Ansantawae Lodge #89. Thank you for letting me serve you.
Fraternally, Robert L. Thomas Worshipful Master
